Can I Pay My Contractors Using a Credit Card?

Learn how contractor payments work in Maroo and when credit cards can be used.

đŸš« Credit Cards Not Supported for Contractor Payments

At this time, contractor payments in Maroo cannot be funded using a credit card. They can only be sent using a connected bank account (ACH).

If you try to add a credit card while creating a contractor payment and see the message “Payment method can’t be added,” this is expected behavior—credit cards are not currently supported for this payment type.

🏩 How Contractor Payments Work

When you create a contractor payment in the Payments section of Maroo, the payment is funded directly from your connected bank account.

💳 Paying a Contractor with a Credit Card (Alternative Method)

If you want to pay a contractor with a credit card, your contractor can do this instead:

  1. Create a Maroo account

  2. Create and send you an invoice

  3. Enable credit card as an accepted payment method on the invoice

Once you receive the invoice, you can pay it with your credit card, provided card payments are enabled for that invoice.

❓ Why Can’t I Add My Credit Card?

If you see the message “Payment method can’t be added” while creating a contractor payment, it’s because contractor payments only support bank account (ACH) payments.

To use a credit card, ask your contractor to invoice you through Maroo instead of requesting a contractor payment.
