If you see a processing fee when trying to pay an invoice, you may wonder why the charge is being added and whether it can be removed. This article explains how payment fees work and who controls them.
Why Is There a Fee on My Invoice Payment?
Payment fees are determined by the business that sent the invoice, not by Maroo.
Businesses can choose how payment processing fees are handled in their Payment Settings.
In some cases, they may choose to pass those fees on to the client when paying through certain payment methods, such as bank transfer or credit card.
These fees help cover the costs associated with securely processing the transaction.
Can Maroo Remove the Fee?
Maroo processes payments on behalf of the business, but we do not control or modify the fees set by the business. Because of this, we’re unable to remove or adjust the fee from our end.
What Can I Do If I Don’t Want to Pay the Fee?
If you have concerns about the processing fee, the best option is to contact the business that sent the invoice directly. They can review their payment settings and may be able to:
Adjust the fee settings
Offer an alternative payment method
Provide another payment arrangement
📌 Payment fees shown on invoices are set by the business receiving the payment, not by Maroo. If you have questions or would like to request changes to the fee, the business that issued the invoice will be able to assist you.
