Common Questions About Managing Contracts and Contract Addendums

Find answers to common questions about Maroo's latest contract management features, including editing, contract statuses, addendums, signature tracking, invoices, and more.

Why don't I see the Edit option for my contract?

The Edit option is only available if no one has signed the contract yet. Once the contract has been partially or fully signed, editing is disabled to preserve the original agreement. If changes are needed, you can create a Contract Addendum instead.

Why don't I see the Create Addendum option?

The Create Addendum option is only available for partially signed and fully signed contracts. If your contract hasn't been signed yet, you'll need to edit the original contract instead.

Can I still send reminders after creating an invoice?

Yes. Sending reminders and creating invoices are separate actions. As long as the contract is still awaiting signatures, you can continue sending signature reminders to your client.

Will my client receive a new email if I resend the contract?

Yes. When you edit an unsigned contract and click Send, your client will automatically receive a new email with the updated contract and a request to sign it.

Does resending a contract create a new contract?

No. Resending updates the existing contract. It does not create a duplicate or a new contract.

Can I download a contract before it's signed?

A signed PDF is only available after the contract has been fully signed by all required parties.

If the contract hasn't been completed yet, you can use the Preview option to review the contract instead.

Why can't I download a PDF for my pending contract?

The downloadable PDF becomes available only after the contract has been fully signed. Until then, you can preview the contract or copy its shareable link.

Will deleting a contract cancel the signature request?

Yes. Deleting a contract permanently removes the contract and its shareable link. Once deleted, clients will no longer be able to access or sign the contract.

Can I delete a contract after it's been signed?

Yes. Signed contracts can be deleted if they are no longer needed. However, keep in mind that deletion is permanent and removes the contract, its history, and its shareable link.

What happens to invoices if I delete a contract?

Deleting a contract removes the contract itself and its associated contract history. If your workflow depends on invoices associated with that contract, review them carefully before deleting the contract.

Can I share the same contract link multiple times?

Yes. You can copy and share the contract link as many times as needed while the link is available.

Can I create more than one invoice from the same contract?

Yes. Maroo supports multiple invoices for a single contract, allowing you to invoice your client throughout the project as needed.

Will creating an invoice affect my contract's signature status?

No. Creating an invoice does not change the contract's signing status. The contract will remain in its current status until all required signatures have been collected.

Can I create multiple addendums for the same contract?

Yes. If additional changes are needed over time, you can create multiple Contract Addendums for the same contract. Each addendum is linked to the original agreement.

Does creating an addendum change the original contract?

No. The original contract remains unchanged. The addendum is created as a separate document that records any agreed-upon updates or revisions.

How can I tell who still needs to sign?

The updated Signers section shows all required signers, their role, and whether they've completed their signature or are still pending.

Can I remove a signer after the contract has been sent?

No. Once a contract has been sent, signer changes are subject to the contract's status. If the contract hasn't been signed yet, you can edit it to make changes. If signatures have already been collected, you'll need to use a Contract Addendum if additional changes are required.

What does the "Preview Only" banner mean?

The banner indicates that you're viewing a read-only version of the contract. The Preview page is intended for reviewing the document and does not allow signatures to be collected.
