๐ Managing Your Contracts with the Improved Contract Experience
Managing contracts often involves more than just sending them for signature. You may need to resend a contract, share its link, create invoices, track signatures, or make changes before it's signed. To simplify these everyday tasks, we've updated the contract experience with several improvements that reduce unnecessary clicks and make commonly used actions easier to find.
Here's a quick video guide to the new contract management experience
โก Access Common Contract Actions Faster
Instead of opening a contract just to perform a simple task, you can now access many actions directly from your contract list.
The More (โฎ) menu has been redesigned to give you quicker access to the actions you use most often.
The available options vary depending on the contract's current status, ensuring you only see actions that are relevant.
๐ Where to find the contract menu
Go to the Contracts tab.
Click on the three dots (โฎ) on the right side of the contract to open the action menu.
๐ Added Options Based on Contract Status
To streamline your workflow, the More (โฎ) menu now displays different actions depending on whether a contract is in Draft, Pending Signature, or Signed status.
โณ Pending Signature Contracts
A contract enters the Pending Signature status once it has been sent to your client but has not yet been fully signed by all required parties. During this stage, you'll have access to additional tools that help you manage the contract while it's awaiting signatures.
โ๏ธ Edit contract
If no one has signed the contract yet, you can select Edit to make changes to the contract. After updating the content, simply resend the contract so your client receives the latest version.
Note: Once the contract has been signed by any participant, editing is no longer available. If changes are needed after a signature has been collected, you'll need to create a Contract Addendum instead.
๐๏ธ Preview
Use Preview to review the contract exactly as your client will see it before or after it's been sent. This is helpful if you want to confirm the contract details or verify the information without entering edit mode.
โ๐ Copy contract link
Select Copy Contract Link to quickly copy the contract's shareable link without opening the contract first. This makes it easy to send the contract to your client through email, chat, or any other communication platform if they need another way to access it.
โโ Create addendum
Add new terms, updates, or additional agreements to a fully signed contract without changing the original agreement. A Contract Addendum allows you to document revisions while keeping the original signed contract intact, ensuring all changes are properly recorded and tracked.

๐งพ Create invoice
You can create one or more invoices directly from a pending contract. This allows you to begin managing payments while the contract is still awaiting signatures. If you've already created invoices, they'll remain linked to the contract for easy access.
โ๐ Send reminder
If your client hasn't signed the contract yet, you can send them a reminder directly from the contract. This sends another signature request email, making it easy to follow up without creating a new contract.
โ๐๏ธ Delete
If the contract is no longer needed, you can delete it directly from the More (โฎ) menu.
Before the contract is deleted, Maroo will display a confirmation message recommending that you edit and resend the contract instead, if appropriate.
โNote: If you choose to proceed, the contract will be permanently deleted along with its history and shareable link. This action cannot be undone.
๐ Draft Contracts
Draft contracts are contracts that have been created but haven't been sent to your client yet. Since they haven't been shared or signed, you can review or remove them before moving forward.
๐๏ธ Preview
Select Preview to review your contract before sending it to your client. This allows you to verify the contract details, formatting, and content to ensure everything is accurate. Previewing your contract is a great way to catch any last-minute changes before requesting signatures.
๐๏ธ Delete
If you no longer need the draft or want to start over, you can select Delete to permanently remove it from your account. Since the contract hasn't been sent yet, deleting a draft won't affect your clients or any signature requests.
Note: Deleting a draft contract is permanent and cannot be undone. Be sure you no longer need the draft before confirming the deletion.
โ๏ธ Signed Contracts
Once a contract has been fully signed, its status changes to Signed. At this stage, editing is no longer available to help preserve the integrity of the completed agreement and ensure that the signed terms remain unchanged.
However, you can still perform several important actions directly from the More (โฎ) menu to manage your signed contracts more efficiently.
๐ Preview
Preview the signed contract directly from the contract list without needing to open or download the PDF. This allows you to quickly review the agreement details whenever needed.
โ๐ Copy Contract Link
Copy the contract link directly from the More (โฎ) menu to quickly share the signed contract with your client or other relevant parties. This saves you time by allowing you to access the shareable link without opening the contract first.
โโ Create Addendum
If you need to make updates after a contract has been signed, you can create a Contract Addendum. An addendum allows you to add new terms, update information, or document additional agreements while keeping the original signed contract unchanged.

๐งพ Create Invoice
Create additional invoices directly from the signed contract. You can create multiple invoices from the same contract, making it easier to manage payments throughout the project.
๐ Download Signed PDF
Download a PDF copy of the completed contract for your records or to share with your client. The downloaded file includes the final version of the agreement and the completed signatures.
๐๏ธ Delete
If you no longer need a contract, you can delete it from your account. Before deletion, Maroo will display a confirmation message to remind you that deleting a contract is permanent and that the contract history and shareable link cannot be recovered.
Note: Deleting a contract is permanent and cannot be undone. Once deleted, the contract, its history, and its shareable link cannot be recovered. Make sure you no longer need the contract before confirming the deletion.
โจ Highlights of the Latest Updates
๐ Copy Contract Links Without Opening the Contract
Sharing your contract is now more convenient than ever.
Previously, copying a contract link required opening the contract first. Now, whenever a contract link is available, you can copy it directly from the More (โฎ) menu.
This small improvement saves time, especially if you frequently send contract links to clients or vendors.
๐ค Edit and Resend Contracts More Easily
Contracts that haven't been signed yet can still be edited if changes are needed.
After updating the contract, you'll now see a Send button instead of Continue. This makes it clear that clicking the button immediately resends the updated contract to your client.
Once the contract is resent:
You'll receive a confirmation message letting you know the contract was successfully resent.
Your client will automatically receive a new email asking them to review and sign the updated contract.
This updated workflow provides better visibility into what happens after you make changes and helps eliminate confusion during the resend process.
๐ก๏ธ Smarter Delete Confirmation
Deleting a contract is now accompanied by clearer guidance to help prevent accidental deletions.
If you try to delete a contract that's still waiting for signatures, Maroo will first suggest editing and resending the contract instead of deleting it outright. This allows you to make corrections without losing your existing contract.
The confirmation dialog gives you three options:
If you choose to proceed with deletion, Maroo will clearly inform you that the action is permanent. Once deleted, the contract, its shareable link, and its history cannot be recovered.
๐๏ธ Track Signature Progress More Clearly
The Signers section has been redesigned to give you a better view of your contract's signing status.
Instead of displaying only a list of signers, you'll now see more detailed information about each participant, including:
Who needs to sign the contract.
Each signer's role, such as Client or Planner.
Whether they've already signed or are still waiting to sign.
This makes it easier to monitor signing progress and quickly identify who still needs to complete the agreement.
๐๏ธ Improved Contract Preview
The contract preview experience has also been updated to reduce confusion.
Some users previously attempted to sign contracts directly from the preview page.
To make the purpose of the screen clearer, the preview now displays a banner indicating that you're viewing a preview only and that signatures cannot be added from this page.
