Contract templates help you save time by creating reusable agreements that can be sent to multiple clients. Instead of building a new contract for every project, you can create a template once, customize it with placeholders, and quickly generate personalized contracts whenever you need them.
Maroo gives you flexibility to:
📤 Upload an existing contract
📝 Draft one from scratch using the built‑in editor
Both options allow you to create professional contracts that can be reused across future projects.
➕ Creating a New Contract Template
To create a new template:
Navigate to Templates
Click Create Template
Select Contract template
You’ll then choose between:
📤 Upload a Document or PDF
📝 Draft from Scratch
📤 Option 1: Upload a Document or PDF
If you already have a contract you use with clients, upload it directly as a Word document or PDF.
Ideal if you want to keep using your existing agreement while adding Maroo’s e‑signature capabilities.
After uploading, you can insert placeholders and signature fields before saving it as a template.
📝 Option 2: Draft Your Contract from Scratch
Prefer to build directly in Maroo? Select Draft from Scratch.
A blank editor will open where you can begin writing your agreement.
Editor Features:
Type your contract directly
Copy/paste an existing contract
Format text like a standard word processor
💡 Tip: If you paste an existing contract, Maroo can recognize many common fields, making it easier to add placeholders afterward.
🔧 Adding Placeholders
Placeholders personalize your contract by automatically filling in details when sent. This saves you from manual updates.
Common placeholders include:
Contract Name
Client Type
Event Type
Event Name
Event Date
Event Location
Client Name
Client Email
By clicking "Add placeholder", you can also add signer-related placeholders such as:
Client Signature
Business Signature

Drop it wherever you'd like it to appear in the contract.
