There may be situations where you prefer not to send an invoice immediately—such as when you’re still reviewing the details, waiting for final information, or planning to make edits before it goes to your client.
You can save your invoice as a draft and come back to it later whenever you need to make changes or finalize the details.
In Maroo, invoices remain in Draft status until they are officially sent to your client. Once you’re ready to share it, you can send the invoice using one of the available options, which will move it from Draft to Due.
Steps to change status
Open the invoice details page.
Navigate to your invoice list and select the draft invoice you want to update.Choose how to send the invoice.
You have two options:Email invoice – Sends the invoice directly to your client’s email address.
Show payment link – Generates a secure payment link that you can copy and share with your client.
Send the invoice.
Once you select either option, the invoice will automatically update from Draft to Due.
Important notes
The invoice will remain in Draft until you send it using one of the two methods above.
After sending, the invoice status changes to Due, and your client can proceed with payment.
Reminders and payment schedules will only activate once the invoice is marked as Due.
Example
If you create an invoice for $1,000 and leave it as a draft, it will not be payable. By clicking Email invoice or Show payment link, the invoice is sent to your client and updated to Due, making it ready for payment.
