If a payment has already been initiated, you may wonder if it’s possible to stop it before it finishes. This article explains how transactions work and what options are available once a payment is in progress.
🔒 Can a Transaction Be Cancelled?
Once a payment has been successfully initiated and is already in progress, it cannot be cancelled within Maroo.
Payment processors begin processing transactions immediately after submission, which means they cannot be stopped or reversed mid‑process.
🔄 What Can You Do Instead?
If you need to reverse a payment that has already started:
Wait until the payment is fully processed.
Once complete, you can issue a refund directly through your account to return the funds to the client.
💵 When Can a Refund Be Issued?
Refunds can only be issued after the payment has successfully completed and appears in your account as processed.
At that point, you can proceed with issuing a refund to the payor.
⚠️ Important Note: Transactions cannot be cancelled while they are processing. If a payment has already started, it must first complete before a refund can be issued.
