If a payment has already been initiated, you may wonder if it’s possible to stop it before it finishes. This article explains how transactions work and what options are available once a payment is in progress.

🔒 Can a Transaction Be Cancelled?

  • Once a payment has been successfully initiated and is already in progress, it cannot be cancelled within Maroo.

  • Payment processors begin processing transactions immediately after submission, which means they cannot be stopped or reversed mid‑process.

🔄 What Can You Do Instead?

If you need to reverse a payment that has already started:

  • Wait until the payment is fully processed.

  • Once complete, you can issue a refund directly through your account to return the funds to the client.

💵 When Can a Refund Be Issued?

  • Refunds can only be issued after the payment has successfully completed and appears in your account as processed.

  • At that point, you can proceed with issuing a refund to the payor.

⚠️ Important Note: Transactions cannot be cancelled while they are processing. If a payment has already started, it must first complete before a refund can be issued.
