If a payment has already been initiated, you may wonder if it’s possible to cancel it before it finishes processing. This article explains how transactions work and what options are available once a payment is in progress.
Can a Transaction Be Cancelled?
Once a payment has been successfully initiated and is already in progress, it cannot be cancelled from within Maroo.
Payment processors immediately begin processing transactions once they are submitted, which means they cannot be stopped or reversed mid-process.
What Can You Do Instead?
If you need to reverse a payment that has already started processing, the best option is to issue a refund after the transaction has completed.
Once the payment is fully processed, you can refund the payor directly through your account.
When Can a Refund Be Issued?
A refund can only be issued after the payment has successfully completed and appears in your account as processed.
At that point, you can proceed with issuing a refund to return the funds to the client.
⚠️ Important Note: Transactions cannot be cancelled while they are processing. If a payment has already started, it must first complete before a refund can be issued.
