Can I Use A Savings Account to Make a Payment?

Having trouble paying with a savings account? This article explains the limitation and provides alternative payment methods.

šŸ’³ Can I Pay Using a Savings Account?

If you’re trying to pay an invoice using a savings account, you may notice that the payment form only allows you to select checking account options. This is expected.

At this time, Maroo does not support ACH payments from savings accounts.

Payments can only be made using a supported checking account.

Because of this limitation, selecting ā€œSavingsā€ as an account type is not currently available during the payment process.

šŸ› ļø How Can I Complete My Payment?

If your funds are currently in a savings account, you have two options:

1. Use a Checking Account

  • Transfer the funds from your savings account to a personal checking account

  • Use that checking account to complete your payment

2. Use a Credit or Debit Card

  • If card payments are enabled for the invoice, you can pay using a credit or debit card instead of a bank account

āš ļø Why Is My Payment Being Rejected?

If you’re entering information for a savings account, the payment may be declined because Maroo currently only supports payments from checking accounts.
