How To Accept Incoming Payment?

Learn how to accept incoming payments on Maroo, from reviewing your payment request and setting up your account to connecting your bank and receiving your funds.


Maroo allows customers—both individuals and businesses—to send payments to freelancers, contractors, suppliers, and other service providers. If you’re expecting to receive a payment through Maroo, here’s what you need to know and how to accept it.

Step 1

Step 1: Check your email invitation

When someone sends you a payment through Maroo, you’ll receive an email notification. Open the email, review the details carefully, and confirm that you recognize the sender before proceeding.

Click Review Payment to continue.

If this is your first time using Maroo, you’ll be directed to create a free account before you can accept the payment.

💡 Tip: If you can’t find the email, check your Spam or Promotions folders. If it’s still missing, contact support via chat or email at [email protected].

Step 2: Create your free Maroo account

To receive payments, you’ll need to set up a free Maroo business account.

At this time, Maroo requires some business information to process and send payments securely.

Once your account is created, continue to the next step.

Step 3: Verify your email address

After signing up, Maroo will send a verification email to your inbox.

Click Verify Email to confirm your account and access your Maroo dashboard.

⚠️ Important note: This step is required before you can receive payments.

Step 4: Complete your business details and connect your bank account

Before accepting your payment, make sure your account setup is complete.

In your Account Settings, you’ll need to:

  • Add your legal business details

  • Connect your bank account

This ensures Maroo knows where to send your funds.

⚠️ Important: Payment requests expire after 7 days if they are not accepted. Maroo will send reminder emails before the request expires.

Step 5: Accept the payment

Once your account setup is complete:

  1. Go to the Payouts tab in your dashboard

  2. Locate the pending payment

  3. Click Accept Payment

After you accept it, Maroo will begin processing the payment to your connected bank account.

What happens next?

Once you’ve successfully accepted your first payment, future payments from that same business will be much simpler.

You won’t need to repeat the full setup process again—payments sent by that business will process automatically going forward.
