Maroo’s gratuity feature allows you to automatically include tips or service fees on your invoices. When this feature is turned off, it only affects invoices created after the change. Understanding how gratuity works with your invoice history is important for accurate billing and reporting.
⚠️ Important Note:
Any invoices created before disabling gratuity will still show gratuity, even if the invoice has been partially or fully paid.
How Gratuity Works in Maroo
New invoices: Once you turn off gratuity, all invoices created afterward will no longer include gratuity automatically.
Existing invoices: Any invoice created before turning off gratuity retains the gratuity settings that were active at the time of creation.
This setup ensures that your historical data remains accurate and reflects the original invoice amounts at the time they were issued.
How to Turn Off Gratuity on All Future Invoices
To ensure gratuity is not applied to any new invoices moving forward:
Go to Settings in your Maroo dashboard.
Select Payment Settings.
Turn off the “Accept Gratuity” option then click Save
Once this setting is disabled, all future invoices will automatically exclude gratuity.
How to Remove Gratuity from Existing Invoices
To update invoices created before gratuity was disabled, follow these steps:
Go to the invoice you want to update and a pop up will appear
Click Edit invoice
Select Payment Methods and Fees
Toggle Gratuity off then click Save
