Can I Access a Deleted Invoice?

Learn why deleted invoices in Maroo cannot be recovered, how this protects data accuracy and privacy, and what alternatives you can use to manage records effectively.

❌ Accessing Deleted Invoices

Unfortunately, once an invoice is deleted, it cannot be accessed or recovered. The system does not store or retain deleted invoices.

Note: Only unpaid invoices can be deleted. Any invoices that have already been paid will remain in your records and cannot be removed.

🔒 Why Deleted Invoices Cannot Be Recovered

This design is intentional and serves several important purposes:

  • Data accuracy → Prevents outdated or incorrect records from resurfacing

  • System performance → Avoids storing unnecessary data that could slow down processes

  • Privacy protection → Ensures sensitive financial information is not retained longer than necessary

  • Compliance → Keeps financial records consistent and auditable

By permanently removing deleted invoices, Maroo ensures your records remain clean, accurate, and secure.

💡 What You Can Do Instead

  • Download invoices before deleting → Always save a copy if you think you may need it later

  • Use drafts for edits → Keep invoices in draft mode until you’re certain they’re ready to send

  • Archive instead of delete → For record‑keeping, consider archiving invoices rather than removing them
