How to Fix the Wrong Business Type

Accidentally selected the wrong business type during signup? Here’s why it happens, how it affects your account, and the steps to correct it with Maroo Support.


🔍 Why This Happens

During signup, Maroo asks you to select a Business Type. This choice determines what type of information is required for payment verification:

  • Individual → Requires personal information (SSN and personal details)

  • Company → Requires business information (EIN and company details)

If the wrong option is selected, the system will request the incorrect type of information, which can cause issues when setting up payouts.

⚙️ How to Resolve It

Currently, the Business Type cannot be changed directly within your account settings.

If you selected the wrong business type:

  1. Contact Maroo Support

  2. Let us know you need your business type updated

  3. Our team will review your account and make the adjustment if possible

Once corrected, you’ll be able to enter the proper information and proceed with accepting payments.
