How to Fix the Wrong Business Type

If you accidentally selected the wrong business type when creating your account (for example, choosing Individual instead of Company), you may notice that the system asks for personal information instead of your business details when setting up payouts.

Why this happens

During signup, Maroo asks you to select a business type. This determines what type of information is required for payment verification.

  • Individual โ†’ Requires personal information (such as SSN and personal details)

  • Company โ†’ Requires business information (such as EIN and company details)

If the wrong option is selected, the system will request the incorrect type of information.

How to resolve it

At the moment, the business type cannot be changed directly within your account settings.

If you selected the wrong business type:

  1. Contact Maroo Support

  2. Let us know that you need your business type updated

  3. Our team will review your account and make the adjustment if possible

Once the business type is corrected, youโ€™ll be able to enter the correct information and proceed with accepting payments.
